Orlando City Soccer – NE Revolution, Close to a Draw.

It was an exciting game at the Citrus Bowl yesterday at the Citrus Bowl when the Orlando City Soccer hosted the NE Revolution. This was a game filled with close calls and yellow cards that kept the crowd on their feet in an uproar! With over 27,000 in attendance it was definitely energy that the OCS felt on the field. The game started with Brek Shea in the attacking midfield position, filling for Kevin Molino who suffered a torn ACL at the Ponte Preta Friendly last Friday. With Shea filling in for Kevin all eyes were on him and he delivered with a strong plays and defense. Unfortunately NE Revolution’s Charlie Davies was able to score in the 19’ leaving Orlando City Soccer trailing till the 2nd half. The first half of the game did end with a few yellow cards called and not called that kept the crowd going wild. Shea received one in the 31’ and NE Revolutions Woodbury received one in the 37’. Kaka actually showed some anger on the yellow card calls but it was in the 39’ that Ogoku a yellow card. With multiple chances to score at the end of the first, the second started off with Orlando City playing harder than before. Coach Heath said they weren’t going easy on New England anymore in the second half. It was paying off until a dropped ball from OSC led to NE 2nd goal in the 71’. Orlando quickly reestablished their presence with a goal in the 75’ by Larin to bring the score to a 1-2. Just when the New England was going to close out the game with their 8th win, OSC Colin scored a goal in the 90th minute which brought the game to a draw and the fans in pandemonium. The game ended with corner kick that would make or break the game for New England and it was no good. Both teams gave a wonderful effort and it shows in the end game draw of 2-2. Next week, May 15th, the Orlando City Soccer Club is hosting the L.A. Galaxy and this is already in the talks of being a great game with a packed audience to look out for!
